I have ALWAYS been insecure about my skin. Since I was 13, I had horrible acne all over my face. It went from my forehead to the sides of my face to my cheeks and then my chin. It spread like wildfire, and by the time I was 16, I had pimples all over my face. I consulted many doctors, and all of them said that it had something to do with my hormones, and the constant moving around places didn’t give my skin enough time to adjust to a place. When I turned 17, I thought I would outgrow it since it was just hormonal. Nothing changed. I turn 18, hoping being an adult would make a difference. Haha, nothing changed again. I used to try a lot of different skincare products hoping they would work. I tried Proactive and whatnot, but nothing seemed to work. This time I had given up but somehow gained some hope and decided to try a straightforward skincare routine for one last time. Initially, it didn’t show much change, but over another few weeks or so, I started seeing changes in my skin. The one thing I realized was that every skin is different, and different methods work on it. Some skin needs a lot of products and various routines to obtain the desired results, but some skin needs 4 simple steps. Today I would love to share my skincare routine with anyone who can benefit from it. I have oily skin, but this skin routine works for both oily and dry skin.

STEP 1
Make up wipes : If you use makeup like I do, its very important to take your makeup off before you go to bed.The easiest way to this, is by using makeup wipes. Even on days when I don’t put on any makeup, I usually cut my makeup wipes into half and use them to remove all of excess oil from my skin before I was go on to the next step. Makeup wipes easily take off all your makeup and avoids clogging in the pores.

STEP 2
Face wash : Use your favorite face wash right after using a makeup wipe for deeper cleaning. I use face wash with micro beads in it since I have oily skin. It lightly exfoliates my skin and removes oils from my pores.

STEP 3
Toner: This step is important. Makeup wipes and face wash open your pores and take out all the dirt from it, cleansing your skin from within but it is essential to close those pores after cleaning them out. Toner helps do so. It might burn a little when you apply it with a cotton pad but that is completely normal. If you closely look at your skin after the face wash and after using the toner, the difference is evident. So, don’t forget to use a toner after washing your face.

STEP 4
Moisturizer: Even if your skin is oily, after the first three steps your skin will get a little dry. Its essential to moisturize it before you go to bed so when you wake up, your skin is hydrated. Follow this routine and go sleep!
